Silvia & Gabriele

Which are the top wedding venues in Italy?

The top wedding venues in Italy exist and can be very different from the ones meant for a destination wedding abroad. Wedding is a home field for Italians, sponsors of “Do it yourself”. Italian couples’ approach to weddings is totally different. The main differences are due to cultural issues.

Starting from the way the couple is (not) involved in the organization (most of the times is the whole family), to wedding topics that do not belong at all to Italian culture: the first look with the groom or the bride’s father, speeches at dinner, first dance, games, and activities during the aperitifs, guestbook and hangover kits. And in terms of top wedding venues in Italy? What are the differences?

Italians tend to pick up nearby villas and agriturismi for daily use, while there are plenty of top venues for destination weddings in Italy. You can choose among a borgo, a castle, a hamlet, a villa, a boutique hotel, a relais or a historical palazzo.

This Italian couple, Silvia & Gabriele, is one of the rare beautiful exceptions. They are from Rome and chose Tuscany and this charming Borgo for their destination wedding in Italy! A Borgo is a special venue I would recommend for an exclusive destination wedding as it reproduces the typical Italian lifestyle as it used to be and still is in small Italian villages.

This Borgo in particular is ideal for groups up to 70 guests because they can all sleep on site and you have enough indoor spaces to avoid the rental of a gazebo. Also, the view and the food are amazing!

The Wedding planner has, of course, the main task to take care of the planning until the wedding day including the day coordination, and give you all her best tips from her invaluable experience. She is there to let you save time, money, avoid stress, and above all disappointments.

“A man’s accomplishments in life are the cumulative effect of his attention to detail.”

It is true that nowadays you find everything you need online including the top wedding locations, but you need orienteering there and avoid to improvise, which may obstruct the event’s logistics. To get stick to your wedding day schedule and timing is also one of the keywords of a successful wedding day, regardless the fact that you could book the ideal location.

For example one common mistake if you are planning the wedding on your own is to underestimate the respect of the timeline which can help you avoid any surcharge from the vendors, possible neighbours’ complaints for the unexpected extension of the party, etc. On your wedding day stay reassured that you will not like having to do with time control and unexpected events.

Even when everything is organized in detail and professionally, unexpected events may occur due to the special situation, several people involved, and numbers of guests. If, then the event has even a complicated logistics including separate venues, e.g. one for the ceremony and one for the wedding reception, you must rely on a professional in charge of the guests’ transfer, guests’ last minute needs and expectations.

You need someone who look after your guests, advise the transfer company in case of possible delays, and with hinsight have helped you find the right exclusive wedding location thicking all the flags.

Whatever location it will be, remember that the owner or event manager always prefer to work with a wedding planner from the very beginning who help them filter the couple’s requests. Every wedding is always a new first time for the couple, even if this is not their first wedding!
